Thirty-six singers from Canada, USA, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago have been selected for the semi-finals of 2021 Chutney Soca Monarch competition.
According to CSM Facebook page, the semi-finals will be pre-recorded and divided into two segments; the first to be aired on January 30th and the second on the January 31st. CNC3, Sangeet 106.1 are the official media outlets destined to carry the shows. The show will be free to the viewing public with an option to donate and will be streamed over YouTube and Facebook.
CSM said that the format of the show will be like well-known international TV shows such as America’s Got Talent and The Voice. Viewers around the world will be able to vote for their favorite performer via text. It is their hope that this interactivity with add more excitement to the show and increase the viewership.
The CSM grand final will also be prerecorded and will air on Saturday, February 13th.
